About the “Ethereum Camp”:
This presentation was held at the “IoT // Ethereum Summer Camp 2017” in Frankfurt, Germany. How can we build the IoT world of tomorrow? Blockchain was connected to real IoT products during a 5-day hackathon running from August 28, 2017 to September 1, 2017.

14 teams consisting of IT developers and business developers developed prototypes focusing on connecting Ethereum and IOTA to real IoT products. From a conceptual perspective, it is similar to a hackathon and a summer school running over one week.
We provided Raspberry Pi and HiKey hardware sets, sensors, actors, physical products and tought participants coding and how to program them. Organized in interdisciplinary teams (2-3 IT developers, 1-2 business developer), more than 80 participants created functional IoT prototypes. The teams developed Ethereum smart contracts, set up IOTA payments, connected real products to it and coded a frontend. Participants learned how to connect Ethereum and IOTA to real IoT products. From a business model perspective, this can yielded fascinating possibilities.
Experts, lawyers and scholars — e.g. from well-known IOTA, ConsenSys, Daimler, Commerzbank, Eciotify or an international law firm — held sessions to touch various facets of the intersection of IoT and blockchain. Besides these companies, the summer camp is supported by DLT Capital, Ventum, Tatcraft, Blockchain Education Network and Informatik Aktuell.
The Ethereum Camp is organized by Philipp Sandner (Frankfurt School Blockchain Center), Daniel Grassinger (nexussquared), Andranik Tumasjan (Technische Universität München) and 21 Digital (Daniel Hofinger, Lennart Wittstock, Jonas Beisswenger).
