The Singapore University of Social Science (SUSS) has become a “living lab” for blockchain technology. Through a tie-up between the institution and two blockchain-based tech companies, devices that are similar to routers are placed throughout the SUSS campus. The “MeshBoxes” enable users and devices to be linked to each other, without the internet or a telecommunications connection. Mr Henry Wang, founder and CEO of SmartMesh, was in the studio to explain how the technology will be put into use at SUSS, and discuss where Singapore stands in terms of blockchain technology development and adoption.
